A1 German for the family reunion visa: vocabulary guide

What does A1 mean?

A1 is the beginner level of the Common European Framework (CEFR). The family reunion visa asks for German at A1 level; Goethe Start Deutsch 1 and telc Deutsch A1 are exams at this level. Always check the current requirements with the authority and the exam provider; we do not claim to replace them.

Preparing vocabulary

Wortino has 793 A1 words, grouped into 32 topics. Learn words together with their articles, study a little every day, and let spaced repetition bring back the words you are about to forget.

What Wortino trains, and what it doesn't

A1 exams (Start Deutsch 1, telc A1) have four parts. No single app gets you through all of them, so here is exactly where Wortino helps.

Study it with cards

Wortino turns words into flashcards with spaced repetition: a word you struggle with comes back soon, one you know comes back less often.
